This book contains essays dealing in detail with various aspects of the August 2008 Russo-Georgian war. The essays provide in-depth analysis of the political, social, economic and military context for and causes of the war. Whilst there is an explicitly acknowledged "Russian" slant on the material, the authors candidly address wartime atrocities, air and missile attacks on civilian targets and ensuing civilian casualties.
