This issue examines the threat posed by radical islamist groups to the US and looks at specific al-Qaida plots in Manchester, New York and Oslo. It also analyzes the relationship between US extremists and foreign conflicts during the 1980s and 1990s. Finally, it highlights the rise in tensions between Hizb-i-Islami and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
