This issue discusses the topic of mass media in the South Caucasus, such as traditional failings versus non-traditional prospects of the Armenian media, the role of the ruling family over TV versus the political opposition’s use of newspapers in Azerbaijan, and the nature of mass media in Georgia. The paper is supplemented by opinion polls on the use and perception of mass media in the South Caucasus, media freedoms in international comparison and the chronicle from 9 February to 10 March 2011.
