Central Africa’s peace and security architecture has run out of steam. The inertia emanating from the regional geopolitical situation, national selfishness and external factors makes security cooperation in the country problematic. This Crisis Group report conducts an assessment and examines the initiatives undertaken by the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) to establish the organization as an effective manager of political and security crises.
