This issue of the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst includes analytical articles and field reports on security issues facing the Central Asia-Caucasus region. The articles examine Russian counterinsurgency policy in the North Caucasus; the role of Iran with regard to Azerbaijan’s human rights problem; jihadism in Kyrgyzstan; and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) record in Afghanistan. In addition, some shorter field reports provide accounts of upcoming presidential elections in Kazakhstan; the eviction of internally displaced persons in Georgia; efforts to dampen islamization in Tajikistan; and the arrest of an Islamic political leader in Azerbaijan.
