This issue of the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst includes analytical articles and field reports on security issues facing the Central Asia-Caucasus region in March 2011. The analytical articles examine US policy toward central Asia; the "people's initial public offering" in Kazakhstan; geo-economic considerations related to the Southern gas corridor; and access to higher education in Azerbaijan. In addition, some shorter field reports provide accounts of Pakistan's efforts to gain access to Central Asian electricity; political instability in Kyrgyzstan, the fourth year of Berdimuhammedov’s presidency in Turkmenistan; and the land lease scandal in the run-up to elections in Kazakhstan.
