This issue of the CAD analyzes the May 6, 2012, parliamentary elections held in Armenia. Alexander Iskandaryan's first article provides an overview of the elections and their results. Mikayel Zolyan's analysis focuses on the domestic and foreign policy cleavages that played a role in the campaign. He is more critical of the conduct of the elections than some of the foreign observers. Onnik Krikorian describes the relatively small role played by on-line social networking sites, such as Facebook, in the campaign. Finally, Inge Snip lays out the role of youth activism in shaping the political environment surrounding the elections.
