This report explores the interplay of US interests in the Middle East, how the strategic context in the region has changed and the attendant effects on US interests. It concludes by offering a framework to guide policymaking. This framework outlines priorities, focused on both near-term threats and long-term trends, to help US policymakers serve the nation’s interests.
