This report examines the European Union's involvement in the rebuilding of Afghanistan. It discusses the EU's present commitments in development aid, political influence, and security assistance. The authors stress the need for greater coordination and cooperation, within the EU institutional framework, between EU institutions and member states, and also between the EU, NGOs, and the government of Afghanistan.
