This issue includes analytical articles and field reports on various themes in the Central Asia-Caucasus region in May 2004. The articles analyze President Saakashivili's position in Georgia, Russian policy in Chechnya in the light of the killing of an Arabic leader in the region, Terrorism in Uzbekistan and the impact of foreign presence in Kyrgyzstan on regional cooperation in Central Asia. The field reports cover the implications of the Pace incident on Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, prison system as a source of drug addiction, HIV/AIDS and TB in Kyrgyzstan, the media law in Kazakhstan, and the implementation of Saakashivili's national reform program in Imereti region.
