This issue includes analytical articles and field reports on various themes in the Central Asia-Caucasus region in February 2005. The articles analyze the tensions between Russia and the OSCE due to Georgia, the changes in Azerbaijan's political party field, Uzbekistan's parliamentary elections, and the situation in Chechnya after Maskhadov's cease-fire announcement. The field reports cover the controversy caused by the death of Georgia's Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania, the Afghan government's efforts to win over the Taliban, the status of President Ashkar Akaev in Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan's relations to the Chechen separatists.
