This report provides an overview of issues facing the Central Asia-Caucasus region, with a particular focus on security-related topics. It includes an analysis of how Azerbaijan and Georgia are benefiting from the international war on terrorism as a means of holding on to power as well as a discussion of the military implications of Russian air force bases in Kyrgyzstan. This is followed by an examination of US-Georgian security cooperation and an analysis of diplomatic relations between China and Kyrgyzstan. In addition, field reports from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are presented.
