This report provides an overview of issues facing the Central Asia-Caucasus region, with a particular focus on security-related topics. It includes an analysis of the Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and its growing opposition by human rights and environmental groups. This is followed by a discussion of the Russia-Turkmenistan gas deal and its implications for Russian policy in Central Asia as well as an examination of Georgia’s security concept. Furthermore, the report explores how the Iraq war if affecting Caspian energy projects in the region before concluding with news bites and field reports from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
