This paper analyzes the general state of Azerbaijan's diplomatic relations with its neighboring states and other international actors. Its author argues that the country maneuvers between the clashing geopolitical interests and ambitions of the different states in the South Caucasus. This, in turn, reflects Azerbaijan's determination to maintain an independent foreign policy that also helps to facilitate economic development.
