This paper argues that the use of theory deriving from the political violence and terrorism literature is valuable in deciphering violent manifestations of the American far-right. The study conceptualizes the American far right and depicts its ideological and organizational/operational development. The author then analyzes the violence and radicalization processes in the different streams of the violent American far right using a data-set that documents violence between 1990 and 2012. In concluding, the author provides an assessment of the future trajectory of American far right violence.
