Since the end of the civil war, Sri Lanka has slowly drifted into authoritarianism. Examples include the removal of the last remnant of judicial independence with the forced impeachment of the chief justice, the detainment of peaceful protestors and the repeal of provincial powers. In this report the group examine Sri Lanka's growing authoritarianism and concludes with recommendations to the UN, the international community and regional governments on how curb the trend of authoritarianism.
