This working paper describes the renewed war (June 2011– July 2012) between the Government of Sudan (GoS) and the Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A) in South Kordofan. It focuses on the dynamics of the conflict and its primary armed actors, identifying shared weapons and ammunition holdings, and also reviews its impact on relations between Khartoum and Juba.
