This brief talks about relations between the US and Iran as well as what effects a war between them could have. The author argues that if war happens, the tactical victory of the US will come with a larger political and strategic defeat. This is because of the size and nature of probable Iranian civilian casualties. He suggests that a solution to the crisis can be found, but it needs to be based on a broader foundation than just the nuclear issue alone. He also suggests that Canada should use its influence with Israel to help avoid a military confrontation.
