This report acknowledges that the Palestinian Authority (PA) is beset by financial and political problems, but it also asserts that it is not going to disband anytime soon. Indeed, Israeli interests and the standoff between Fatah and Hamas will see to that. Current viability, however, does not mean that there isn't a pressing need for PA reforms. Since institutional transformation is a must, the report's authors conclude their analysis by recommending ways that the PA can bolster its ability to cope with near-term political change.
