This report examines the Philippine Government's recent attempts to end major insurgencies within the country, including the Moro Islamic Liberation Front's (MILF) rebellion in Mindanao. In the latter case, the report reminds us that although an October 2012 pact with the MILF raised hopes for peace, there is still much work to be done to disarm, demobilize and reintegrate the rebel fighters.
