This brief discusses Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the implications of its policies. The author argues that by redistributing many of its traditional responsibilities to other, sometimes new ministries, the policies and politics of Israel's foreign affairs ministry have become incoherent and harder to execute. He concludes that a coherent policy to deal with Israel’s conflict with the Palestinians needs a government which provides a coherent agenda to a strengthened foreign affairs ministry.
