This double issue of CAD provides an overview of Armenia’s political and economic situation in the wake of the 2012 parliamentary and 2013 presidential as well as the Yerevan City Council elections. The seven articles assess the level of democracy in the elections and their consequences, the role of the internet in Armenian society, the nature of the oligarch-dominated economy, and Armenia’s foreign policy position between Russia and the EU. Taken together, the articles provide a comprehensive view of Armenia today.
