This paper features a number of commentaries on a range of issues relating to the US response to the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime in Syria. The commentaries focus on issues such as the possible attack on Syria and how it will affect the humanitarian crisis in the country; what the removal of the Assad regime might lead to; US strategy following an attack; implications of the US's rebalance toward the Asia Pacific region for Asian governments; the likely outcome of the Syrian civil war and how it will affect refugee migration and security in the region; and the Syrian crisis issue in relation to International Law and the Responsibility to Protect (R2P).
