This working paper looks at pastoralist grazing patterns in Sudan and South Sudan to examine the complex environment that has emerged along the new Sudan-South Sudan border. It specifically looks at case studies from the Northern Bahr el Ghazal–East Darfur border, Abyei, the Unity–South Kordofan border, the Upper Nile–South Kordofan border, and the Upper Nile–White Nile border.
