This issue of the RAD focuses on a Russia that is seemingly becoming more traditional and nationalistic in its outlook. The first article explains how the Kremlin's heightened emphasis on conservative values helps strengthens the domestic status quo and fuels a more confrontational foreign policy. The second article then examines the proliferation of anti-gay laws and practices in Russia. Finally, the last piece focuses on Putin's efforts to discredit Russian NGOs, which he believes are inimical to Russia's national interests.
