This paper examines the implications of the 2012 Taiwanese election results for the country, the regional and, especially, the country's relations with China. It includes articles on China's reaction to the election, President Ma Ying-jeou’s strategy regarding China, the Democratic Progressive Party's electoral strategy mistakes, and the Taiwanese business community's mobilization to re-elect Ma Ying-jeou.
