This text focuses on the national legislature in Myanmar and its role in the country’s transition process. While there are those who are concerned about its objectivity and effectiveness, there are others who argue that the legislature’s achievements have been significant, especially given its institutional weaknesses and the inexperience of its members. Declaring the glass 'half full', however, isn't enough. As Myanmar's transition proceeds, this branch of government must be strengthened further if it is to meet public expectations.
