This report argues that the 2013 elections in Madagascar may have reinvigorated international support for the country, but it didn't resolve the causes and lingering consequences of its 2009 coup. As a result, the report outlines the immediate and long-term adjustments the new government must make if it hopes to avoid the return of another crisis. They include institutional and security sector reforms and securing the support of the African Union.
