This report examines the rapidly deteriorating situation between Israel and the Palestinian territories, wherein the Palestinians are inching towards civil war, Israelis and Palestinians are coming close to resuming all-out hostilities, and the international community continues to deprive the Palestinian Authority of vital assistance. Warning of a catastrophic breakdown, it urges all players to rethink their policies in order to prevent further violence or the possibility of collapse. The international community is encouraged to pursue a nuanced approach, provoking Hamas to resort to pragmatic politics rather than radicalism, while Hamas is requested to abandon its ideological rhetoric.
