This study examines the circulation and possession of firearms in selected areas in four countries in the Karamoja Cluster and Horn of Africa regions. It finds that due to inadequate state security, the circulation of arms in these areas remains widespread. In addition to heightening the risk of violent conflict between and within communities, the easy availability of firearms also raises the risk of accidental gun-related deaths and injuries. The study also reveals that South Sudan suffers most from such incidents, followed by Somaliland, Kenya, and Uganda.
