This paper looks at some of the ways in which the US and its international coalition partners could more quickly find a negotiated solution to the civil war in Syria. Suggestions include 1) rehabilitating the Syrian political opposition; 2) pressuring the al-Assad regime to freeze the conflict and resume negotiations; and 3) establishing a Syrian stabilization force.
