This brief discusses the problems the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) will now face in a post-ISAF era. The possibility remains, for example, that ANSF units will collapse under the weight of a major political crisis or an insurgency that intensifies to the pitch that once existed during US and coalition operations in the country. Finally, the brief provides recommendations on how the US should continue supporting the ANSF.
