This paper discusses some of the lessons learned from the 2013-2014 negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians and outlines recommendations for future talks. The author also looks at 1) the history of the negotiations; 2) the issues that have proved intractable in negotiations between Israel and Palestinian authorities; and 3) the role of the US as a facilitator in the negotiations.
