Publication

This brief assesses the outcome of the Fifth Biennial Meeting of States (BMS5), the latest in a series of meetings on the UN Programme of Action (PoA), held in June 2014. The author provides a retrospective analysis of BMS5 and also looks ahead to the next Second Open-ended Meeting of Governmental Experts (MGE2) which will be held in June 2015. He also analyzes issues related to women’s participation in PoA-related processes and compares the BMS5 outcomes to those in other PoA meetings.
