This paper discusses what policy the EU should adopt towards Belarus in light of the 2014 Ukraine crisis. The authors contend that the Ukraine crisis has created concerns in Belarus about Russia and that Minsk seems to be interested in increasing engagement with the West. They then argue that the EU should take this as an opportunity to adopt a more constructive approach towards Belarus and bring about greater engagement with the country. They also suggest that such an approach must involve finding a way to strengthen Belarusian society and independence.
