This paper suggests taking a value chain approach into greater consideration as part of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). The authors contend that using such an approach provides the negotiating parties with useful information that enables them to focus on areas which are really able to deliver much needed economic benefits. With this in mind, they argue that the TTIP negotiations should mainly focus on reducing cost and improving logistics along the production chains of the firms that have production lines across the Atlantic.
