This article examines the status of the peace talks between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), particularly in the wake of the recently collapsed ceasefire between the two sides. Since the ceasefire ended on May 22, 2015, the country has experienced a level of violence that it hasn’t seen in years. So, if the peace talks are on thinner ice than ever, what should the antagonists do? The article concludes with different recommendations on how to address their problems, including having both parties agree to a transitional justice process that will serve as a foundation for a final peace.
