This paper examines how social services provided by Islamic organizations in Egypt impact individual attitudes towards religiosity, violence and sectarianism. The findings reveal only a limited link between social service provision and attitudinal change in the country. They also show how different organizations oversee distinct social service networks. This is why the author argues that it is in fact unwise to speak of Islamic social service provision as a general term.
