This report sets out a six-point strategy for the implementation of the July 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between the P5+1 nations and Iran. The strategy emphasizes 1) setting the conditions for effective long-term implementation and enforcement of the JCPOA; 2) countering Iran's attempts to destabilize other countries in the Middle East, primarily through closer cooperation with Arab partners; 3) reassuring Israel of the US’ willingness to counter Iran's subversive behavior; 4) cooperating with Iran on issues of common interest; 5) leveraging the JCPOA to strengthen the broader nonproliferation regime; and 6) building on the JCPOA to advance US global leadership. The report’s authors also lay out specific policy recommendations that support the above strategy.
