Nov 2015

This publication focuses on the overall security status of Europe in the wake of the Paris atrocities that occurred in November 2015. The text's authors specifically complain that most Europeans have ceased to take defense seriously and that national leaders "dropped the ball" after initially proposing to revitalize the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) with a more ambitious agenda. To turn the latest European security crisis into an opportunity, the authors call for greater national-level leadership within the EU. A Franco-British initiative to re-launch the CSDP, for example, could serve as a helpful first step.
