This exercise in futurology contemplates the challenges North and South Korea might face ten years after their unification. The challenges could include 1) the shifting relations between Northeast Asian countries; 2) resolving the status of the US-South Korea Alliance; 3) defining the missions and capabilities of the armed forces of a united Korea; 4) managing the existence or disposition of nuclear weapons; and 5) determining the applicability of nuclear deterrence to the peninsula.
