This issue of the Sentinel features four articles that focus on 1) whether the so-called Islamic State (IS) could abscond to Libya if it could no longer operate in Iraq and Syria; 2) the militant Islamic entities in the Philippines and the possibility of IS developing an operational presence in the country; 3) the link between territorial losses by IS and the expansion of the group’s international campaign of terrorism; and 4) what the legal proceedings against those accused of plotting terrorist acts in Britain show about the threats posed by IS to the country. This Sentinel edition also includes an interview with John Miller, NYPD Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence and Counterterrorism, which covers the terrorist challenges to his department and profiles Al Qaeda operative, Saif al-`Adl.
