This paper analyzes the hydrological and environmental situation in the Jordan River Basin region and examines what role water has played in the Arab-Israeli conflict. Particular emphasis is given to the water-related agreements that arose out of the Oslo peace accords and whether these arrangements might serve as a model for the resolution of other water disputes in the region.
