While examining Canada’s ability to promote democracy and inclusivity abroad, this report specifically looks at 1) the definition of inclusive governance and how it relates to democracy; 2) the history of Canadian democracy promotion since the 1980s; 3) what Canada actually contributes to the field of inclusive governance; and 4) what steps the country should take in the future, including creating a dedicated autonomous or semi-autonomous organization that’s mandated to coordinate, implement and advocate inclusive governance abroad.
