This report explores the factors that are likely to shape Kazakhstan’s socio-economic development over the next 25 years. While doing so, it also reviews 1) the country’s economic performance and political evolution since it gained independence; 2) what the future holds for Kazakhstan’s system of governance and its political practices; and 3) the impact global and regional trends may have on Astana’s foreign policy.
