This briefing examines recent restrictions on humanitarian agencies in Myanmar, most seriously from the military government but also from pro-democracy activists overseas who seek to curtail or control assistance programs. It states that these restrictions threaten the efforts to halt the slide toward a humanitarian disaster that could shatter social stability and put life-saving solutions beyond reach regardless of which government is in power.
