This report addresses the position of and attitude to the Arab minority in Israel and asks what might be done to improve the relationship between the minority and the majority. The paper introduces the living conditions of the Arab-Israelis and sheds light on the historical and political context. The paper presents examples of discrimination, alienation and discontent and explores the mutual perceptions. Subsequently, the paper discusses possible conflicts and the impact of the peace process. The paper argues that the Arab-Israelis’ integration must be pushed forward toward a more inclusive, non-discriminatory political contract.
