This report presents an analysis of Serbia’s political opposition before the background Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic’s grip to power and his moves to eliminate sources of opposition. The paper introduces features of Milosevic’s dictatorship, touches on opposition from non-Serbian regions and outlines non-party opposition. Furthermore, the paper provides information on individuals in opposition and introduces several political opposition parties. The paper argues that Milosevic is the root cause of regional discord and his removal should be a primary international objective.
