This report asks what the future of the Bosnian-Serb Republika Srpska (RS) will look like after the end of NATO’s air campaign against Yugoslavia to end the Kosovo crisis. The paper reviews the domestic political struggle within the RS, outlines the policy of the international community and assesses economic and humanitarian repercussions of the war. The paper argues that the RS stands at a crossroad and has to choose between either peaceful economic development or nationalism and impoverishment.
