This report addresses the impending ethnic division of the Kosovar city Mitrovica, where Serbian and Albanian communities clash. It outlines international efforts to overcome this division. The paper provides a chronology of the city’s division, addresses the situation of the ethnic groups, reviews existing planning and discusses the Easter violence outbreaks. The paper calls for a package of political, economic and military incentives to break Serbia’s control over Mitrovica.
